The practice of law is Peter's second career – or maybe it's the third or fourth, depending on how you count. In an earlier life, Peter was a hospital worker and union activist with New England Health Care Employees Union, District 1199/SEIU. A major part of Peter's practice is the representation of individual employees and unions in wage and hour disputes. He has worked closely with Connecticut Legal Services' Day Laborer Wage Clinic, litigating claims for unpaid wages and overtime payments on behalf of low wage workers. Peter also represents employees in discrimination and Family and Medical Leave Act clatwork (1003)BW.jpgaims in state and federal court and in administrative proceedings before government agencies, including the Connecticut Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities, the Connecticut Department of Labor, the Freedom of Information Commission, and the Department of Public Health. In addition to practicing before the Connecticut Superior Court and the United States District Court for Connecticut, Peter is admitted to the Second Circuit Court of Appeals.

Peter is the coordinator for the Connecticut chapter of the National Lawyers Guild (www.nlg.org), a national  organization of human rights attorneys. Peter volunteers with the Day Laborer Wage Clinic operated by the Stamford office of Connecticut Legal Services and is a member of the the Hartford Immigrant Rights Coalition.  Peter also works with the Clean Slate Coalition, a network committed to assisting previously incarcerated people to re-enter their communities.
