District court denies Summary Judgment Motion filed by the Stafford Board of Education, Superintendent Therese Fishman and former Selectman Gordan Frassinelli Jr., in the case of Russo v. Stafford Board of Education, et al, Docket No. 3:07-cv-00378 -VLB.  The plaintiff, Patricia Russo, a former bus driver in Stafford, alleged that the defendants caused her removal from her position as a bus driver in retaliation for having exercised her First Amendment right to free speech.  Plaintiff’s counsel, Nicole Rothgeb, explains that Ms.

State government must recognize what the incoming Obama administration already recognizes: The current problems must be understood not as budget problem for the state, but as a jobs, services, and quality of life problem for Connecticut's people. Tough economic times are when the people of the state need public services the most.

Judge Janet Hall has ruled in favor of a class of more than 170 Tournament Directors employed by the American Contract Bridge League (ACBL), allowing them to pursue their overtime claims under the Fair Labor Standards Act.  Attorney Peter Goselin represents the Tournament Directors.
